Williams-Sonoma Catalogue

Ok for those of you who don’t know, I’m in Australia. I accompanied the husband for a two month work trip to Toronto, Canada at the beginning of this year and thoroughly loved the shopping. We didn’t get to visit much due to having a pram, no car, no car seat and snow abundant. We went from January to March, some of the bitterest months. In addition to that, we found the the subway walk systems were great for people on two feet. Not so much with prams and/wheelchairs. Most separate buildings had great ramps etc but from one building to the next it was appaling on the whole. There were huge stairs that parents were supposed to toss their prams off. Elevators were locked and not manned.

But we did bring back a stack of catalogues from various places I’ve heard of but never been to. It’s nice having a paper version of online catalogues. I spent this morning looking through these catalogues. I liked how the Williams-Sonoma Feb 2007 catalogue include recipes in their cookware section. How thoughtful and ingenius. There was a slow cooked lamb dish that I will have to try out soon.

It’s a great way to make people look out for new issues of catalogues in stores and return time and again to their website. If you haven’t, visit their desserts section is quite marvelous.

Welcome to my blog! It’s such a pleasure having you here.

What are you inspired by? I am inspired by beautiful and bright interiors, fabric, furniture, pinks, yellows, greens, chairs, china, trees, chocolate, peonies, hydrangeas, cherry blossoms, roses and rhubarb with cream.

Friends and family call me drey (pronounced 'dree'... short for Audrey) and I can often be found zipping through op-shops and vintage stores in the Blue Mountains, NSW, Australia.
