For love of birds

Bird statues in stores in Niagara Falls

I’ve had a longtime love affair with birds. Starting from I guess watching sparrows flit around at school when I was nine during history classes. I lovelovelove sparrows. A month before Hannah was conceived when we were holidaying in Malaysia, Andrew and I gaped at a hummingbird buzzing around my uncle’s garden. Always wanted to see one. I didn’t know they were tiny! We thought it was a bee!!!

Bird statues in stores in Niagara Falls

While in Niagara Falls this past weekend, I couldn’t help but pick up a brass shelf-sitter bird for $5 at The Copper Leaf. mmmm. I wish things in Australia were as affordable as we’ve found shopping to be in Canada (minus the bloody taxes).

Talking about birds…

Check out the yummy hummingbird pillows by Joom as featured on decor8.

Great buy, drey! Have a lovely time at your sister’s and a safe trip back to Melbourne. You’ll have to update us on all the good finds there!

The Woman behind the Blog

Welcome to my blog! It’s such a pleasure having you here.

What are you inspired by? I am inspired by beautiful and bright interiors, fabric, furniture, pinks, yellows, greens, chairs, china, trees, chocolate, peonies, hydrangeas, cherry blossoms, roses and rhubarb with cream.

Friends and family call me drey (pronounced 'dree'... short for Audrey) and I can often be found zipping through op-shops and vintage stores in the Blue Mountains, NSW, Australia.
