Abura’s Japanese House: Casa de Ruth

Casa De Ruth, by José Carlos Mariño Veira

After I posted his magnificent dollhouse creation just last week, José Carlos Mariño Veira from Abura wrote me a few days ago thanking me as well as to let in on his newest project, which is as astounding!

You know how I scanned images from my favourite children’s book, Mouse by House by George Mendoza many moons ago?

When I first saw the pictures of José’s latest dollhouse, I immediately remembered Lazy Cat’s Japanese house!

I don’t know if you will see similarities too… but there are very similar lines and look to Jose’s latest work, not so much a dollhouse (like his previous project) but more a … treasure in a (beautifully crafted) box.

Jose, who is behind Abura Dollhouses, makes them to order.

The Woman behind the Blog

Welcome to my blog! It’s such a pleasure having you here.

What are you inspired by? I am inspired by beautiful and bright interiors, fabric, furniture, pinks, yellows, greens, chairs, china, trees, chocolate, peonies, hydrangeas, cherry blossoms, roses and rhubarb with cream.

Friends and family call me drey (pronounced 'dree'... short for Audrey) and I can often be found zipping through op-shops and vintage stores in the Blue Mountains, NSW, Australia.
