Inspiration: Elle Decoration UK Oct 2008

Collection of Murano brandy glasses

You know you have these whispers of ideas in your head for ages and ages… and then you flip to a page in a magazine and you see that someone else has gone and done it?!

Elle Decoration UK Oct 2008 has TWO of this images.

Ducks on walls:

I’ve wanted a trio ceramic flying wall ducks so I can spray paint them a happy colour. I think it brings a modern edge to the vintage pieces.

for myself for a while now but for what I want to spend on it, they are too expensive

Spotted in Elle Decoration UK all done in a gold colour, which instantly glamourises the ducks. Problem is, because they are a sought after item by country lovers, they can be expensive.

Murano glassware, all lined up:

We have a bar area which we have turned into our coffee bar. I’ve been wanting to start a Holmegaard collection to line on the back of this area which is mirrored to provide colour, interest and vivacity.

Just like this one in Elle Decoration UK:

Or like this one I’ve had on my inspiration-board for nearly 2 years, from O At Home, 2004, featuring Muffy Nixon‘s home.

The Woman behind the Blog

Welcome to my blog! It’s such a pleasure having you here.

What are you inspired by? I am inspired by beautiful and bright interiors, fabric, furniture, pinks, yellows, greens, chairs, china, trees, chocolate, peonies, hydrangeas, cherry blossoms, roses and rhubarb with cream.

Friends and family call me drey (pronounced 'dree'... short for Audrey) and I can often be found zipping through op-shops and vintage stores in the Blue Mountains, NSW, Australia.
