Faux bamboo coffee table

How was your weekend? I had a really nice one (bar the broken rose + robin porcelain). We went to a few garage sales in the suburb then headed further up the Blue Mountains for some Malaysian cuisine in Katoomba. (For locals, please, try out the new Unique Patisserie, Katoomba!)

Then we headed up to Blackheath Antique Centre on a whim. While hubby and daughter headed for espresso + hot choc break, I got to see the antique centre. The gorgeous jewellery… the furniture, the art, the china, the … the… the… collectibles… all major drool factor.

I scored a gorgeous marble plaque hand carved with a pair of pheasants as a birthday gift from hubby. I have just the perfect spot for it. :) Show and tell in a few weeks.

But I did desperately want a vintage faux bamboo tray-top coffee table. Awfully painted in a hunter green, I easily saw it in a glossy sunshine yellow in the middle of our living room. I had to give it a miss as it was rather expensive, but I do so want it. The good thing is that it’s been there a while. Let’s hope it’s still there (and on a sale) when we buy a house locally and it can be my gift to me ;)

It looks like this black one from Coast Furniture + Interiors:

Anyone know what shape the top is?

The Woman behind the Blog

Welcome to my blog! It’s such a pleasure having you here.

What are you inspired by? I am inspired by beautiful and bright interiors, fabric, furniture, pinks, yellows, greens, chairs, china, trees, chocolate, peonies, hydrangeas, cherry blossoms, roses and rhubarb with cream.

Friends and family call me drey (pronounced 'dree'... short for Audrey) and I can often be found zipping through op-shops and vintage stores in the Blue Mountains, NSW, Australia.
