Curbed National was launched in conjunction with Operation Dollhouse on 23 September 2010. Curbed sent out five identical dollhouses to editors-in-chief of Lonny, Elle Decor, Architectural Digest, House Beautiful and Dwell.
Operation Dollhouse was such a success with each shelter magazine producing totally individual and creative responses!
Architectural Digest’s creation:
Very ingenious. Dressing the dollhouse from without: wrapping the house and transporting it!
House Beautiful’s answer:
Sticking the back of the walls with interior photos cut from their magazine and wrapping the furniture with the texts from the magazine.
Lonny’s inspired response:
Beautiful rendition using dollhouse furniture with black and white stripes.
Elle Decor’s vignette:
Similar treatment to the Lonny version.
Dwell’s Editor in Chief Saw Grawe was overseas, but he still manages to impress!
What a unusual take… a completely artistic response to the challenge! I love.
How fun this must have been!!!
