Cubes… and then…

My desk with my new white cubes, perfect for display and storing books. Makes a great niche lighting tool too.

I collect bags. So this is why I went against one of my mottos:

If ya can’t afford it, don’t get a knock off. (It shows.)

I bought a $25 “Gucci” handbag on Friday at my favourite thrift shop.

Then on Monday I returned it, tormented by my motto all weekend.

And exchanged them for these great just-in retro white cubes. After some reorganising, my desktop has more “shelf” space!!

I want to display my House By Mouse book in something other than the Ikea easel… a project for another day, another update!

I agree about the knock-offs to an extent. Lately Gucci and Pada quality is so low that I would buy a knock-off before I would even consider the original. But other houses still warrant buying the real deal. BUT, the cubes are so great that the return is fully jusified! Nice work!

What are you inspired by? I am inspired by beautiful and bright interiors, fabric, furniture, pinks, yellows, greens, chairs, china, trees, chocolate, peonies, hydrangeas, cherry blossoms, roses and rhubarb with cream.

Friends and family call me drey (pronounced 'dree'... short for Audrey) and I can often be found zipping through op-shops and vintage stores in the Blue Mountains, NSW, Australia.
